About

Combine footage, images and effects into finished shots using a graph of connected nodes. Natron is a video compositor comparable to After Effects, Nuke or Fusion, and it is aimed at visual effects and motion graphics work.

It processes color in 32-bit floating point, manages color with OpenColorIO and reads formats such as H264, DNxHR, EXR, DPX, TIFF, JPG and PNG. OpenFX plugins extend it, and the viewer gives live feedback, with proxy rendering for speed. It runs on Linux, macOS and Windows.

Highlights

  • Node-graph compositing with live viewer feedback
  • 32-bit float color and OpenColorIO
  • Extensible with OpenFX plugins

Who it's for

Good for video editors and VFX artists who want a node-based compositor without a subscription.
