bestappfor.me is a catalog of information about third-party software. We do not make or distribute that software. Links lead to the project's official site or to the distribution channel shown on each listing.

Third-party software and no liability

In short: every project listed here is a public repository owned by someone else. We list it; we do not make, host, sign, scan or distribute it. If you download or install it, you do so at your own risk.

In detail:

• Nature of the service. bestappfor.me is an information catalog. The listed software is developed, published and distributed by third parties through public repositories and official channels. We do not host, repackage, modify or sell it, and we have no control over its code.
• No relationship with the software. Your use of the software is governed only by its own license and by the terms of the channel you download it from. We are not a party to that relationship and provide no support, updates or warranty for the software.
• No warranty. Open source software is normally provided “as is”, as its licenses state. We give no assurance that any software is secure, free of malware, fit for a purpose, lawful where you live, compatible with your device or still maintained. A listing is not a recommendation, endorsement or security audit.
• No liability for third-party software. To the extent permitted by law, bestappfor.me is not liable for damage resulting from downloading, installing or using third-party software, from changes made by its maintainers after our last check (including compromised releases or dependencies), or from external sites.
• Our indicators are informative. License, Health, Rising, install commands and descriptions come from public data and automated checks, carry the date of the last check and can be wrong or out of date. Health describes which basic checks passed; it is not a security rating and not a guarantee that the software is safe.
• Your checks. Download only from the official source linked on the listing, check signatures or checksums when the project publishes them, read the license, and keep backups. For critical use (work, health, money, personal data) get an independent assessment.
• What this does not limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, in particular for intent or gross negligence, or the rights that mandatory consumer law gives to consumers.
• Reports. If you think a listing points to harmful, infringing or unlawful software, report it (see Report & removal). We assess reports within 10 working days; for security threats the listing is suspended within 24 hours pending review.

No warranty on our information

Information such as license, health and install methods is collected from public sources and automated checks, and shows the date of the last check. We do not guarantee that it is complete or up to date, and we do not guarantee that any software is free of bugs, vulnerabilities or malicious code.

Installing software

Installing is done by you, on your own device, at your own risk and under the license of the software. We only point to official channels and, when we show a command, it is generated from a fixed template for that channel.

Licenses

We show the declared license as checked under our License policy. Before reusing or redistributing software, read its original license.

Descriptions

Descriptions are written by our editors with automated assistance, not by the developers, and are marked as such. To report a problem use “Report this listing”.

Trademarks

All trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the projects. bestappfor.me is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by GitHub, Google, Microsoft, Apple or the listed projects.

Links lead to the official site, repository or channel of each project and to other external sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices; a link is not an endorsement.

Developer accounts and listings

Developers can sign in with GitHub or Google and propose a listing for a project they maintain. By submitting a listing you confirm that:

• You are the owner or a maintainer of the repository, or you are authorized by them. For a new project we check this with a verification token in the repository or with your GitHub permissions; to claim a project that is already in the catalog you must be an admin of the repository on GitHub (or an owner of the organization that owns it). We check it again periodically: if the proof disappears, the “Verified by developer” badge is removed and, after 14 days, the listing is released.
• Only one developer account manages the listing of a repository: the first that proves ownership. You can release a listing at any time. A released listing (by you, after a failed re-check, or because someone else proved ownership while yours could not be confirmed) is managed by us: its last approved version stays online without the badge until it is replaced by a new approved listing or removed. • The texts, logo, cover, screenshots and video links you upload are yours or you have the right to use them, and they do not infringe the rights of others (copyright, trademarks, image rights, privacy). [(A) to be checked by a lawyer: warranty and indemnity wording]
• You grant bestappfor.me a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license, for as long as the listing is online, to host, resize, convert, translate and show this content on the site, in its previews and in search results, only to present your project. • Every listing and every change is reviewed by us before it goes online. We may refuse, edit for format, suspend or remove content that is wrong, misleading, unlawful, against our License policy or against these terms, and we tell you the reason. You can contest it as explained in Report & removal.
• We never host downloads: the “Get” button points only to the official channels you declare and that we check. Uploaded images are re-encoded by us; files of other kinds are refused.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Account page: your listings, images and data are removed; projects that were already in the catalog go back to the version written by our editors.
• Descriptions provided by the developer are marked “Verified by developer” and prevail over ours; we keep both, and the measured data (stars, health, license check) stays ours.

Law
