About

LocalAI lets you run language, vision, voice, image and video models on your own machine, behind a single API. It follows the OpenAI, Anthropic and ElevenLabs APIs, so tools that already use them can point to your server instead.

It works with NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Apple Silicon, Vulkan or just a CPU, and you install it with Docker or a macOS app. Each backend is pulled only when a model needs it. You also get API keys, user quotas, roles and built-in agents, and your data stays on your infrastructure.

Highlights

  • OpenAI-compatible API for text, image, voice, video
  • Runs on GPUs from several vendors or CPU only
  • API keys, user quotas and role-based access

Who it's for

Good for people who want AI models running on their own server or PC, without sending data elsewhere.
