About

Serve websites and act as a reverse proxy with HTTPS switched on by default. Caddy gets certificates from Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL for public names and runs a local certificate authority for internal names and IPs. It supports HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.

You can configure it with the simple Caddyfile, with native JSON, or through a JSON API. It is a single Go binary with no external dependencies, not even libc, and its modular design lets you extend it with additional modules.

Highlights

  • Automatic HTTPS with Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL
  • Reverse proxy with HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3
  • Configure with a Caddyfile, JSON or API

Who it's for

Good for anyone hosting their own sites or services who wants HTTPS working without manual certificates.
