About

Colima lets you run containers on a Mac or Linux machine from the terminal, with little setup. Start it with defaults, then use the usual docker, nerdctl or incus clients. Kubernetes can be switched on with a flag.

You choose a runtime: Docker, Containerd or Incus, which handles both containers and virtual machines. Ports are forwarded automatically, volumes can be mounted, and you can run several instances, configured with options or a config file. On Apple Silicon it can also run GPU-accelerated containers for AI workloads.

Highlights

  • Docker, Containerd or Incus runtimes
  • Optional Kubernetes with a single flag
  • Automatic port forwarding and volume mounts
