About

Speech Note lets you write notes by speaking, listen to text read aloud, and translate it between languages. Everything runs on your own computer, with no network connection needed once models are downloaded, and no data is sent to the Internet.

The app combines several engines for speech recognition, speech synthesis and machine translation, including Vosk, Whisper-based tools, Piper and Bergamot. Language models are not bundled: you pick and download the ones you need from a built-in model browser. It runs on Linux desktops and Sailfish OS.

Highlights

  • Speech to text without an Internet connection
  • Text read aloud with synthetic voices
  • Machine translation run locally
