Webots gives you an environment to model, program and simulate robots, vehicles and mechanical systems on your computer. It is meant to be friendly to newcomers, with step-by-step tutorials that each focus on one learning goal.
It includes a physics engine and a 3D view, and it works with ROS and ROS 2. Webots started at EPFL in 1996, was commercialized by Cyberbotics from 1998 and was open sourced in December 2018. It runs on several platforms under the Apache 2.0 license, and you can try simulations online at webots.cloud.
