About

Write and design documents with a layout that will feel familiar if you have used Word: ribbon, styles gallery, tables, track changes, references and mail merge. It opens and saves .docx files and can export to PDF and other formats.

WordCraft is a clean-room reimplementation of Microsoft Word written in pure Rust. It runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux and BSD, and in the browser through WebAssembly. Comments appear in the margin, spelling is checked as you type, and citations come in APA, MLA, Chicago or IEEE styles.

Highlights

  • Reads and writes .docx files
  • Track changes and margin comments
  • Native on four systems and in the browser
