About

Find files and folders on your computer by typing fd followed by part of a name. It searches the current folder and everything inside it, and you can add a second argument to search somewhere else.

Patterns are regular expressions by default, with glob patterns as an option. Searches ignore case unless you type a capital letter, skip hidden files and anything listed in .gitignore, and run in parallel. Results are colored by file type, and you can run a command on the matches.

Highlights

  • Short syntax: fd PATTERN
  • Smart case and regex or glob patterns
  • Skips hidden and .gitignore files by default

Who it's for

Good for anyone who searches for files in the terminal and finds the find command's syntax hard to remember.
