Use one window for your local shells and your remote connections. Tabby is a terminal with a built-in SSH and Telnet client, a connection manager and a serial terminal, and it supports PowerShell, WSL, Git-Bash, Cygwin and CMD on Windows.
Tabs and split panes are remembered, shortcuts and color schemes are configurable, and SSH secrets and settings are kept in an encrypted container. You can transfer files from SSH sessions with Zmodem. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and it is not light on memory.
